Continental House is a vegan life sanctuary in Australia. Any activity on site must maintain this status. We serve food to groups and once week have a Saturday banquet. People can prepare their own food in one area and there is a guest kitchen for storing and preparing food. It is owned by a vegan of 14 years. The staff is vegetarian and vegan, except for the cleaning crew. The chef is vegan. It has been in business for 18 years. “I started the facility as vegetarian initially, but it soon became obvious this was using unnecessary ingredients, which could easily be substituted for with vegan ones. In 1991, about three years after first starting, I modified my personal situation to become vegan dietary and lifestyle. Since that time, we have only served vegan food, with a couple of exceptions. “We believe we are unique in Australia as a Vegan Life Sanctuary and are interested in promoting this fact,” says the owner/ chef.

Happy Oasis is an all raw and vegan home retreat. In business for 13 years, they offer some food from their own organic gardens. The owner is a vegan for 8 years. All staff is vegan. “Happy Oasis is the founder of The Raw Spirit Festival in Sedona, Arizona, the first festival celebrating raw food, spirituality and music amidst tall trees and swimming stream. “As a raw vegan and traveler, I enjoy sharing this home, lake, garden, fruiting trees, canyons, music, poetry, meals, environmental concerns, solutions and dreams with beloved friends from around the planet” says the retreat owner. She adds, “The primary reason for becoming a vegetarian as a teenager was love of and compassion for animal friends who deeply touched my heart. However, multiple health challenges and realisations encouraged the adoption of raw veganism in my early thirties.”
